Our body was designed to be active. 21st century jobs are designed to be sedentary. We need to prioritize leisure activities that involve fresh air. We need to make time every day for movement in order to maintain optimal wellness.
And for those that are consistently finding time to be active, we need to be mindful about the activities we engage in and why. Don't punish your body with hour long cardio sessions because you want to work off that burrito. Do high intensity intervals of functional, whole body movements because you want to build healthy bones. Do low intensity stretches and leisure activities because you want to clear your mind. Do both to build a strong, fit body that is trained to withstand injury and recover quickly from illness.
